Our next local business, Breakthrough Football Training, is a local business with plenty of ambition. We spoke to founder Adam Brice, who describes what makes Breakthrough unique and his plans for the future…
Can You Give Us A Description Of Your Business?
At Breakthrough, we provide specialised one to one football and conditioning coaching with UEFA B licensed coaching, and I am now about to undergo my UEFA A licence. We have also begun expanding into group training sessions, providing our high quality coaching to more than just one to one sessions.
What Inspired You To Start Your Business?
I am of course very passionate about football, but one of the main reasons for starting the business was the fact that so many players make the move from full time professional football to part time football, and are unable to keep up the training intensity of full time football. When you go from training 5 days per week with a game on the weekend, to having 2 sessions and a game, you lose fitness and it becomes difficult to make progress. This is something I have been through myself, having played for Aldershot before dropping into the National League South. At Breakthrough, we aim to fill the gap, enabling those players to remain sharp and fit despite being part time rather than full time. As well as this, we want to improve young players and give them quality technical training.
Where Are You Based?
We are generally based near Gunwharf with sessions taken at St Edmunds School. Occasionally, we will provide sessions at Goals or Roko if it suits our client better. Being based in this area is excellent as it allows us to be flexible with the location of our sessions.
How Do you Market Your Business? Are You Online?
Many of our clients come through word of mouth, which is positive as it means we have a good reputation. We are online, with an Instagram page posting regular pictures and videos from our sessions and also a YouTube channel where people can view full videos of our sessions and our clients can watch back and analyse their session.
What Are Your Plans For The Future?
In terms of Breakthrough, I want to employ full time staff and have a fully functional coaching setup with regular sessions for young players and those who have dropped out of the professional game. I have also been setting up a new business, which is a clothing range that I would describe as “affordable luxury” which is something I’m extremely excited to be pushing on with along with my business partner.
DigitalDinos will bring you more from Adam Brice’s clothing range ‘Impression’ upon it’s launch.
